# DAMO

> DAMO is a market state layer for humans and AI agents. It describes the state of a market across 10 fixed timeframes using exactly 4 deterministic states. DAMO provides market state data only. It does not provide trading signals, predictions or investment advice.

Status (as of 2026-09-30): DAMO is available to humans as an invite-only TradingView indicator. The DAMO recording engine has been running internally since 2026-09-28. A public API for programs and AI agents is being prepared and is not available yet. This file will be updated when it is.

## The DAMO state model

- Exactly 4 states. Codes are permanent and will never be reassigned:
  - 1 = bull_momentum (green)
  - 2 = weakening (red)
  - 3 = bear_momentum (blue)
  - 4 = recovery (orange)
- 10 fixed timeframes, always in this order: 1m, 5m, 15m, 1h, 4h, 12h, 1d, 3d, 1w, 1M
- A market's full state can be written as a 10-value vector in that order, for example [4,3,3,3,3,2,2,1,1,4]
- States are deterministic: the same candles always produce the same state
- All times are UTC

## Two layers

- DAMO VERIFIED — "What DAMO recorded then." The state of each confirmed (closed) candle, recorded once at the moment the candle closes and never changed afterwards.
- DAMO LIVE — "What DAMO sees now." The state of the candle that is still forming. It is provisional and may change until the candle closes. It is never written into the verified record.

## How the verified record is kept

- Recording started 2026-09-28 (UTC) for BTCUSDT perpetual futures on Binance USDⓈ-M
- Append-only hash chain: each record includes the hash of the previous record
- Only states published in real time are recorded. Past periods are never back-filled
- Periods when the recorder was not running are recorded explicitly as gaps
- Daily off-site backups with a Merkle root per UTC day
- Public verification (published chain head and daily anchoring on Base) is being prepared

## Markets

- Current: BTCUSDT (Binance USDⓈ-M perpetual futures)
- Additional markets are added one at a time, each with its own recording start date, after a candidate recording period and data-maturity checks
